Jim Tait

Conserving nature and concern for his children's future motivated Jim to found Independents CAN, a vehicle to address climate change politically.

As an environmental scientist who specialises in freshwater ecology, through his firm, Jim has consulted to industry, government and communities for over 32 years.

This sees him in the outback frequently, where he bears witness to the impacts of climate change.

Being a scientist, Jim interperates new climate information as it comes to hand and understands the trends leading to the predictions of the future.

"The good news is that Australia has the resources and capability to meet the challenge. We can build a renewable energy powered economy that includes a reinvigorated manufacturing sector and export clean energy to the world."

Jim believes pragmatism and working across thr political spectrum is key to delivering effective climate policies.
